Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) will be highlighting its research activity in additive manufacturing and integrated production technology for plastics process- ing. In the field of additive manufacturing, IKV says it


takes a multi-material approach that covers a range of different products. It performs fundamental analyses to examine the influence of the process on the properties of plastics products, as well as looking at the potential for use of additive manufactured metal mould ele- ments. IKV will also show its latest work in the area of hybrid production for automated combination of different production processes. Instron will present examples from its full range of testing equipment, including a 5969 electromechanical dual column table-top tensile system with pneumatic grips and nominal load capacity of 10 kN. The unit will be fitted with an automatically contacting AutoX extensometer and TestMaster AT3 automated specimen loading system and will be shown sending all results to a Bluehill 3 test software system. The company will also show two impact testing


systems: a Ceast 9350 floor standing drop tower designed to deliver 0.59J to 757J or up to 1,800J together with an environmental chamber, and a motorised Ceast 9050 impact pendulum. Both systems will be operated using Instron’s Ceast VisualIMPACT software. For HDT and Vicat testing, Instron will show its recently introduced Instron HV Series with an HV6X model with six testing stations and automatic weight application.
