90° direction changes through the use of a special sectional design that minimises pellet contact with the elbow wall. Coperion will also be showing its Electronic Pressure Compensation (EPS) system for accurate and consistent pressure compensation in feed hoppers and outlets. An updated FFS Packaging Machine ITL 250 will be on show. Improvements include a reshaped hopper to reduce dead zones and improve ease of cleaning, a new servo-actuated gravity feeder, and motorised reel unwinder mounted in a new body frame. ❙ www.coperion.com

EREMA will introduce its Careformance for Recycling 4.0 smart factory package for recyclers, which the company says builds on its Intarema technology for Industry 4.0 applications. In addition to previously available machine data, specially integrated sensors – the QualityOn package – can be used to record and evaluate MVR (Melt Volume Rate), colour and moisture. The company says that the QualityOn package

enables recyclers and recycled compound producers to manufacture recyclates with consistent quality and document them transparently using online data acquisition and analysis. Recipes recorded electroni- cally can be compared with each other and modified. In order to make use of machine, quality and process

data, EREMA has also developed re360 - a Manufactur- ing Execution System (MES). The company says that re360 allows monitoring of an entire range of machinery and works independently of the plant itself. The system provides an overview of the capacities/stoppage times of the systems for management, documents key quality data of the recyclate for the plant manager, and informs the operator about upcoming maintenance jobs. ❙ www.erema.at

Feddem will present its ICX (Innovative Compounding and Extrusion) technology concept for complete compounding lines, developed in partnership with sister company Akro-Plastic. The company will also be exhibiting its FED 26 MTS pilot plant extruder with enhanced wear protection. According to Feddem, this extruder can be custom- ised and be used for a broad range of applications and a variety of compounding jobs. It will be demonstrated with an extension unit, side feeder and side vacuum degassing unit. Due to its modular design, the extruder can be extended in just a few steps from 32D to 42D, 52D or greater. The entire electrical system is integrat- ed into the frame and the machine stands on castors, making it mobile and easy to move. Depending on the area of application, the FED 26 MTS can achieve production rates of 10-150 kg/h. ❙ www.feddem.com

FIMIC will place the main focus of its K2016 display on its ERA melt filter for highly contaminated material applications. Such applications usually require the use of two filters in sequence to achieve good quality product, says the company, but the ERA design incorporates two filtering chambers providing two levels of filtration in one unit. This is said to considerably reduce capital cost. The ERA model uses a punched large size main

screen in the first chamber, followed by a much finer laser drilled filter in the second (FIMIC has been using laser drilled screens for more than five years). A typical arrangement would use 400 micron holes in the first filter and 150 microns in the second. The two chambers are managed independently with separated discharge valves. Backflushing is also available as an option on the ERA filter. The Italian company will also be presenting details of

a new version of its RAS filter developed for processing of PVC cable industry scrap. The company claims that the fast screen change of its RAS models (15 to 50 minutes depending on model size) allows a big reduction in machine downtime. ❙ www.fimic.it
