“systematically expanding our product portfolio and applica- tion spectrum in the field of plastics additives”.

PolyAd, which was part of BASF until 2014 through its Ciba acquisition, provides speciality blends of additives, including antioxidants, stabilisers, flame retardants, lubricants, nucleators, slip agents, anti-blocks, clarifiers and slip agents, plus services to solve additive incorporation problems. The company is also known for its EpochUV series of light stabilisers for PA and Fahrenheit series of thermal stabilisers. The deal follows Altana’s acquisition in July last year of the Addcomp additives business, which has also since

R&P Polyplastic eyes Europe

R&P Polyplastic, which claims to be the largest producer of plastic compounds in Russia, has signed two significant co-operation agreements; a deal with the German trading firm Polytrade Global will help expand its activities outside of Russia while another with BASF focuses on the local automotive market. Polyplastic hopes the Polytrade alliance will

see it increase exports to Europe to 1,000 tonnes/year by 2018. “Exportation is the future. The Russian market is fully discovered, thus

there is a need to extend abroad. Our new partners will open us to the markets of Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany,” said R&P Polyplastic CEO Pavel Kruglov. The deal with BASF continues an existing

co-operation arrangement between the two companies. It aims to develop UV stabilised compound formulations as part of Polyplastic’s drive to gain the quality certifications needed to supply European automotive manufacturers. ❙ http://polyplastic-compounds.ru
