Performance Polyamides 2017 The latest advances in PA resins and compounds will be discussed at the second Performance Polyamides conference, which takes place on 6-7 June 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Organised by Compounding World publisher Applied Market Information, this international two-day conference examines innovations in PA resins and compounds for demanding technical applications such as the automotive, electrical/electronic, medical, consumer goods, construction and industrial sectors. It will draw a high level audience from across the complete PA supply chain, from producers and compounders to OEMs and end users. For information about attend- ing, exhibiting or sponsoring, visit the conference website. Or contact Conference Organiser Emily Renshaw. Email: er@amiplastics.com; Tel: + 44 (0) 117 314 8111.

magnitude in certain resins (especially in amino terminated polymers) in less than 60 seconds at temper- atures above 200°C, Öhrn says. Nexamite can also enhance mechanical properties at elevated tempera- tures. The additive is activated by the elevated tempera- tures used during processing of the polyamide. Nexam- ite is available in powder form or in a masterbatch.

HEADLINE SPONSOR

Silicone solutions Dow Corning has in recent months been promoting two of its newest silicone-based additives for polyamides: Dow Corning HMB-1103 Masterbatch and Dow Corning 31-441 Additive. Both are said to provide a reduced coefficient of friction (COF) and improved wear resist- ance at lower loadings than PTFE while retaining key mechanical properties.
