Tomorrow’s FM finds out how a commitment to values has seen caterer Gather & Gather redefine food service and
win BIFM’s 2016 brand impact award, from MD Allister Richards.
When Gather & Gather launched in 2013 one of its key ambitions was to shake up the food service industry and redefine the role of food in the workplace, and winning the 2016 BIFM brand impact award confirms that they are doing, and continue to do just that.

challenge: take the business to the next level.
One of the main issues to overcome was that the Mitie name wasn’t synonymous with food. An association with cleaning and security was not particularly helpful when selling food services in a competitive market dominated by specialist caterers, all of whom strongly advocated (along with many consultants) that it was necessary to go outside the facilities management framework to the industry specialists to provide catering services of any note.
