EDITOR’S VOICE EDITOR’S VOICE Hello and welcome to the July edition of

Tomorrow’s FM, I hope you’re all set to head off on your summer holidays as it certainly doesn’t look like the sun is heading back out any time soon.

It’s been a busy month for us Brits, with a shock exit from the EU and the not- so-shocking exit of England and Wales from the European Football finals – it’s a good job we’ve still got the tennis! In the world of FM, we have powered on regardless and had a successful month at events including the Facilities Show.

It was great seeing so many of you battling the elements to get across a gridlocked and water-logged London, to the ExCeL for an exciting three- day show and of course, the FM Industry Ball. At the show we were able to present trophies to some of our award winners; Camfil and Diverseycare; I also voted in a mock referendum and nearly got blown away in a shocking attempt at De-Ice’s game-show style blizzard machine.

The annual FM Ball saw attendees raise a staggering amount for MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association) beating last year’s amount with a total of £31,204. A speech from Lucy Hawking, daughter of Stephen Hawking about her childhood experiences with the disease, and a performance from the youth cast of We Will Rock You made it a night to remember.

I was also fortunate enough to spend two days in Ireland with a host of fellow industry editors to see the latest power-producing developments from Airsynergy in-situ at Tayto Park, with just enough time to have a quick turn on the world’s largest wooden rollercoaster before heading home...

Enjoy the issue!
