Flooring Solutions Museum of Liverpool


RSL has supplied flooring to the largest national museum in Britain, the Museum of Liverpool.


Located at the UNESCO World Heritage Site next to Liverpool’s famous Albert Dock and the Royal Liver Building, the Museum of Liverpool is the country’s most visited museum outside of London and has attracted almost three million visitors since opening in 2011. Its exhibits cover popular culture, while tackling social, historical and contemporary issues.


RSL supplied flooring to the Great Port gallery on the ground floor which explores Liverpool’s renowned dock system. The gallery is also home to Lion, the famous 1838 steam locomotive.


Resuflor DM was chosen because it is a self-levelling, seamless floor that offers high levels of durability. Resucoat HB was applied as a topcoat to give a light textured,


non-slip finish. The end result was flat, simple grey-coloured flooring that showcases museum exhibits and can withstand heavy footfall.
