MAKEOVER OF THE MONTH

Laminate flooring from Pergo is now providing style and performance within the prestigious Heal’s department store, the capital’s destination for contemporary interior design.

As part of the internal relocation of the Ligne Roset furniture brand from first to second-floor, London based shopfitting specialists Bluegroup Retail worked closely with the luxury designer brand on the specification. Between the two parties, it was decided that Pergo’s Living Expression Drift Oak planks should be used throughout the second- floor to help create a more welcoming and open feel to the whole department. Bluegroup Retail have been delivering a full re-fit program across all floors within the Tottenham Court Road store for the past 18 months, helping to create interesting spaces and a refreshed shopping experience for the customers.

extra-wide plank and defined 4V bevel help to enhance the feeling of space, with the floor’s pale oak tone providing the ideal backdrop to key furniture pieces from Ligne Roset’s incredible collection of designers. With Genuine technology, the floor’s characterful feel is enhanced through a lightly polished structure that follows the grain in every detail.

Pergo’s unique approach to laminate flooring means that 84 designs can be selected in one of three different quality levels, helping to meet the demands of various specifications. With Living Expression (Class 32), Original Excellence (Class 33) and Public Extreme (Class 34), it becomes possible to choose the ideal décor without compromise. Thanks to the superior scratch, wear and impact resistance of TitanX, Pergo laminate floors are capable of withstanding intensive use, while the proprietary PerfectFold 3.0 joint holds string in even the most demanding of locations yet remains up to 30% faster to install.

“The Ligne Roset department is very popular within the store and thus noted as a high traffic area, so the key specifications were that the floor had to be hard-wearing, as well as aesthetically pleasing,” explained Mike Peach, surveyor and estimator at Bluegroup Retail. “We suggested a number of different flooring options to Heal’s and following discussions regarding budget, colour and performance it was decided that Pergo laminate flooring achieved everything required to meet the brief.”
