understand it is a fantastic place to go whale watching and one of the best places to try your hand at salmon fishing, not to mention the scenery can be spectacular.
Q5
HOW WOULD YOU IMPROVE THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?
I am hugely respectful of where the industry has come from and what it has achieved, and how the associations have worked to influence change. But I still believe that there is huge potential for more training at all levels of our industry so that cleaning slowly builds its standing within the working environment and is recognised for its importance to all industries and its image in its customers’ eyes.
Q1
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? I was in the stationery industry
before the Spicers ruled the world, there were a lot of similarities in this industry to the janitorial trade. Both have a broad product offering, are service driven and price conscious.
Q2
Q3 Q4
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE CLEANING INDUSTRY?

Q7 Q8
IF AN INTERN WERE TO START TOMORROW,
WHAT’S THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE THEM? Plan, work hard and have fun.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO UNWIND?
Spend time with my family and friends.
IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND AND YOU
COULD ONLY HAVE ONE THING, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY? My first thought would be a boat but given that I would be able to find my way to civilisation eventually I would like to try my hand at making the best of a situation and therefore would ask for a piece of equipment that would enable me to build a structure and then of course help provide/prepare anything that I was able to catch to eat.
Q9
WHAT, DO YOU THINK, IS THE FUTURE OF THE
CLEANING INDUSTRY? There will be huge pressures at all levels of the supply chain to continue delivery, innovation and
time efficient systems which add real value to customers. Both of these will need to be supported by training and knowledge of the appropriate systems that could be used on areas that need cleaning.

Q10
IF YOU COULD DESIGN ONE PIECE OF CLEANING
EQUIPMENT TO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS LIFE EASIER, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY? A colour changing cloth or mop which would only revert to its original colour when the surface it is being used on is completely clean and free of dirt and bacteria.
