FRESH IMAGE FOR SPECIALISED
CLEANING SERVICES Specialised Cleaning Services, a Preston-based firm delivering cleaning services to businesses and Housing Associations across the North West, has undergone a brand makeover following award recognition and the extension of its service offering.
The new website and rebrand reflects the company’s transformation from modest beginnings as a family business in 2007, to its current reputation as a leading provider in the sector, with a workforce of 30 staff and a fleet of 16 vans.
The rebrand has been timed to coincide with a national awards ceremony in which the firm has been shortlisted for the first time. Specialised Cleaning Services is a finalist in the UK's 'Best Specialist Cleaning Company' category at the 2015 Kimberley-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards, regarded as the most prestigious
PROCHEM ACHIEVES ECO STANDARD
ACCREDITATION After an extensive audit of the company's Environmental Management System (EMS), Prochem Europe has been granted certification to British Standard EN ISO 14001:2004.
Prochem Compliance Manager, Rose Herridge puts the company's certification down to its successfully showcasing comprehensive recycling processes and by taking on board the recommendations from the energy audit and environmental management analysis provided by consultants, RBS Mentor.
"We were already taking a rigorous approach to our energy usage, but RBS Mentor were able to suggest ways we could improve even further.”
Gaining ISO 14001 accreditation has been a particular achievement for the

awards in the cleaning services industry. Founder of the company, Sarah Southworth, will attend the awards ceremony on 23rd October at the Hilton London, Park Lane.
Sarah said: “We’re really pleased with our rebrand and are so excited for our clients to see the new website.
“The business is just going from strength to strength so it’s very important for us to be able to highlight the full range of services we offer and the website does just that.”
The new website will also highlight the addition of asbestos clearance services to the range of specialist cleaning services offered by the firm, which include clearing processes for void and occupied properties, rubbish removals, clearing gardens and ground
business. "We're very environmentally- conscious and this proves it to our customers," she said.
"Training is an important factor in our commitment to the Standard – staff are involved in toolbox training sessions and I have a Foundation Certification in Environmental Management co- ordinated by RBS Mentor.
“After reviewing lighting throughout the company we will be upgrading to LED lighting in our offices and evaluating opportunities for this technology in the warehouse, too."
Ray McCabe, Mentor Health, Safety and Environmental Management Consultant, who worked with Rose, added: "The accreditors highlighted how impressed they were with Prochem's EMS and the company subsequently achieved the accreditation with no non- conformances."
The audit further found that Prochem demonstrated reduced usage of gas, electricity and water (excluding product
maintenance, pest removal and control, trauma cleaning, contaminated waste disposal and needle sweeps.
The firm, which has remained a family business, has received many accolades in recent years, with owner Sarah Southworth winning Business Woman of the Year in the 2012 Enterprise Vision Awards and recognition in the Inspirational Woman the Year category, having been highly commended in the category in 2013. Sarah has also made the finals of the Be Inspired Business Awards (The BIBAs), which are organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, for Business Woman of the Year and for Inspirational Business of the Year.

manufacture) as well as waste control to landfill between 2013 and 2014.
The rain water and grey water collection and re-cycling system in the company's truck mount bay was cited as a ‘best practice' initiative, the auditor extending the scope of certification to include ‘specialist cleaning equipment including accessories, service and maintenance'.
"This accreditation is arguably more important to businesses than the ISO 9001 Quality Management System we achieved back in 1992," said Company Managing Director Alan Tilley.
"With chemical products under increased scrutiny, it's reassuring for customers to know they are procuring cleaning solutions from manufacturers with certified levels of environmental awareness.
"We are very pleased to be accredited to this standard and proud to find in the auditor's comments that our staff perceived EMS is an intrinsic part of daily business at Prochem Europe."
