Due to the cleaning depot’s relatively central location and its proximity to the river Taff, Arriva Trains Wales needed to make sure the cleaning chemicals it used for exterior washing could easily be disposed of without additional treatment.

logistical problems with deliveries to the wash plant, which is at the far end of the facility and the most distance away from the entrance. Arrow Solutions was able to help by devising a new route that would allow the unloading of deliveries to take place nearer to the cleaning facility.
“At the Canton depot we used to have to unload thousands of litres of cleaning products a long distance away from the wash plant, then drive them there on a forklift truck,” explained Phil. “This was a logistical nightmare, as you can imagine.
“Understandably, companies in the past were unsympathetic to our dilemma because it's not their job to move the products once they've been delivered.
“However, this became such a constant headache that we eventually felt we had to sit down and work out another delivery method. Together with Arrow Solutions we were able to plot a more suitable route.
“Despite this amendment adding time and distance onto the journey for Arrow Solutions’ distributor, the company understood how much this meant to us and was happy to make the change.
“We've been using Arrow Solutions' cleaning materials for ten years now because they constantly provide quality products in quantities that suit us," added Phil.
“The relationship that we've built over the years has been typified by Arrow Solutions’ reaction to our logistical problem and consequently, their rectifying of it.”
