attempting to set it alight. As you can see in the below video, even when a lit candle is resting on the carpet, the carpet does not catch fire.
members websites and also in retail stores and on their own websites. With new WoolAbilities being uncovered there will be more to come!
“Although it is a new initiative, the WCFG has come a long way in a short space of time. The list of members is most impressive and support from the wool carpet industry has far exceeded expectations. We now, however, have to show some results. Talking about it is one thing but increasing sales is the name of the game and for that we need more fresh ideas and support from all quarters.
“The fact that you have even read this is another step forward so thank you for that and if you have any questions please contact me at
curtthesheep@gmail.com and if I don't have the answer I know someone who has!”
The British Wool Marketing Board also made it their mission to raise as much awareness about British Wool as possible at the Show. We popped along to their stand where we were shown how much British wool springs back when compressed, compared to wool from other origins.
TOMORROW’S
CONTRACT FLOORS AWARDS
Tomorrow’s Contract Floors had the honour of presenting two of the winners of our 2016 Awards with their well-deserved trophies at this year’s Show.
First, we visited the stylish EGGER stand to present them with their 3rd place award for their aqua+ Technology.
(From L to R) Scott Wolters- National Sales Manager, Emma Alder- Sales Office Manager, Bernstein Krueger- Sales Director
This is what Martin had to say about the Show:
“‘Do you think wool carpets are better than those made from unnatural synthetic fibres?’ Every carpet manufacturer I asked this simple question to all answered in the same way. Every single one said “Yes!” That speaks volumes in my opinion and our job in helping to market wool carpets and rugs is half way done. The problem is getting that message across to the other half - the retailer and the specifier who don't always know the difference. That is why we are here and why we have a lot of work still to do. That is why the WCFG had a display area and that is why we will be back again next year.
“We are not here to knock synthetics, we can't all have wool carpets, but if there is a fair and equal choice then wool will come out on top. Our simple animated videos showing some of the "WoolAbilities" were "Premiered" at the Flooring Show and received a lot of attention. I think they will present a simple but effective message on WCFG
