SHOWTIME

Open forum at METSTRADE W

ith a powerful combination of year-round engagement and interactive seminars, METSTRADE, the leading platform for product and concept innovation in the

global leisure marine industry, is proactively continuing its involvement in matters related to environmental sustainability across all sectors of the boating market. This is a logical continuation of the themes established with successful environmental/sustainability conferenc- es held alongside the METSTRADE event over the last two years. Based on input from the METSTRADE Online Commu-

nity (an open source information exchange facility) on some of these key topics, there will be an opportunity for them to be discussed in open forum during the MET- STRADE Show in November. These mini-seminars will be moderated by expert speakers from the industry and will be held at the Innovation Stage, which has become a popular and permanent feature of the show in recent years. Irene Dros, Manager Maritime METSTRADE at RAI Amsterdam, explained: “We were very pleased to

successfully put environmental and sustainability issues firmly on the agen- da in a conference setting and to see the involvement of senior figures from the boating industry, together with representa- tives from various government and trade associations. Following that, it was logical to broaden the outreach, thus giving the whole marine industry – and any one of our many thousands of visitors – a chance to get person- ally engaged in the subject matter throughout the year and during the show itself”. RAI Amsterdam’s Irene Dros. Seawork to celebrate 20th anniversary

Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition, Seawork International, will celebrate its 20th anniversary when it takes place at Mayflower Park, Southampton, from 13-15 June, 2017. Since 1998, every year, Seawork has brought together thousands of attendees from all corners of the world. In 2017, the event looks set to welcome around 7,500 visiting marine industry professionals and key media representatives, as well as prominent VIPs. Many of the world’s leading industry associations support Seawork, including the International Institute of Marine Surveying, the Association of Diving Contrac-

tors, the Shipbuilders & Ship Repairers Association and British Marine. Seawork visitors authorise or influence the purchasing decisions for the companies they represent. These are high-calibre professionals, who recognise the wealth of innovation and expertise that Seawork International provides. Exhibiting at Seawork gives businesses the opportunity to both network and develop international relationships with these key decision-makers. Seawork International info@seawork.com www.seawork.com

at the marina close to the main event at Ferry Nab. This will allow the public to take a close look at the mooring facilities in the marina. Dan Fairweather, Marina Manager at Windermere Marina Village in England’s Lake District, said: “We’re really looking forward to the Boat Show. It was a great
