New delay for Paphos Marina In its issue of December, 2016, Marina Euro-Report announced that funding had been secured for the new 1,000-berth Paphos Marina in Potima Bay at Kissonerga in Cyprus. It has now been reported that although the Poseidon consortium won a legal battle to build the long-awaited marina, it had failed to supply adequate evidence of its ability to fi nance the project. According to Andreas Demetriades, head of the Paphos Chamber of Commerce, its bid has now been rejected. Demetriades also confi rmed that


Pafi lia Developers, which was next on the list of tenders, has been invited to bid for the marina’s construction and operation. However, the Poseidon consortium, in which Aristo Developers is a major stakeholder, is not giving up and is appealing to the island’s Supreme


Court claiming that the decision is unlawful and has already instructed its legal advisors.


Grant funding for EV charge points As a government-approved EV charge point manufacturer and installer, Rolec EV is able to off er grant funding of up to £6,000 towards EV charge point installations under the new Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS). Kieron Alsop, Rolec EV’s Managing


Director, commented: “The Workplace Charging Scheme was introduced by the Government and is being managed by the Offi ce of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to encourage and support workplace locations to install and provide electric vehicle charging points to cater for the EV charging requirements of their own staff as well as visitors.


“Whilst the Scheme will off er


up to £6,000 towards a multi-EV charge point network, in most cases business have opted for a single charging pedestal, off ering two charging points, which can qualify for a grant of £600 + VAT.”


Video promotes V5 Seabin project The Seabin project team is extremely excited to announce the launch of the new V5 Seabin video, showcasing the V5 Seabin, an automated marina rubbish bin that collects fl oating rubbish, debris and oil 24/7, and pilot partners. The six partners are: La Grande Motte (France); Porto Montenegro (Montenegro); Port Adriano (Spain); Wärtsilä (Finland); Buttefi eld – Princess Hamilton Marina (Bermuda); and Safe Harbor Marinas – Cabrillo Isle Marina (USA). Each of these marinas have a


pre-series V5 Seabin installed, which


will begin the three-month pilot period where the product and the educational and research programs will be tested and trialed under diff erent conditions. The video can be viewed on the Facebook website.
