8 EURO-NEWS EYEBROW Handover of James Watt Dock

n 1 February, the James Watt Dock LLP, a partnership between Peel Holdings and Riverside


Inverclyde (Property Holdings) Ltd handed over the operation of James Watt Dock Marina to Marina Projects Ltd, which has been granted a long lease and has committed to invest in the expansion of marina facilities, including 40 berths planned for later in 2017. The existing operational staff will remain and their experience and knowledge of the marina’s customers will be crucial to the future success of the marina. Geoff Phillips, Chairman of Marina


Projects, said: “I am delighted that Marina Projects has been selected as the operator for James Watt Dock Marina. The Marina Projects team has a great deal of experience in the marina sector, including the operation of Whitehaven Marina in Cumbria. We look forward to working with the existing staff in developing James Watt Dock Marina”. Councillor Jim Clocherty, Board member of Riverside Inverclyde, one of the two companies that constitute James Watt Dock LLP, said: “Marina Projects brings global expertise to Inverclyde and we look forward to the company applying its experience and knowledge in taking James Watt Dock Marina to


the next level. Very importantly, all of the current operational staff have retained their jobs with this new operator and will have the opportunity to grow with the company as it implements its expansion plans over the coming years.
