London Wine Fair 2017

LONDON WINE FAIR 2017: A MUST ATTEND SHOW

Now in its 37th year, the London Wine Fair is one of the leading drinks industry events in the calendar. Taking place over three days at London Olympia, the show will offer over 10,000 wines, from 40 different countries and host around 15,000 trade professionals. With a raft of importers, producers and generic bodies attending alongside a rich programme of seminars, masterclasses, and briefings, this is the must-attend event for anyone buying or selling wine in the on-trade sector.

Key features include: Esoterica, the area of The Fair highlighting the portfolios of niche and micro-importers, with many products destined for the on-trade; Wines Unearthed, showcases wineries seeking representation in the UK and beyond for the first time; The Pop Up Tasting area, which hosts generics, importers and brands not exhibiting at The Fair, will return.

Highlights will include: the largest selection of English wine producers to date; a plethora of 2016 Rosés in time for summer lists; wines with sustainable credentials – organic, natural, carbon neutral; sparkling wines from top Champagne Houses, as well as Prosecco, Crèmants, Cavas and the new world. This is a great opportunity to meet up with winemakers, suppliers and colleagues and fill any gaps on the drinks list.

There will be a wealth of content at this year’s Fair, from Industry Briefings on the issues of the day, to Masterclass tasting sessions and Pop Up tastings featuring some of the leading winemaking regions. On Monday, 22nd May (14.30 – 15.30), wine writer, Dr Jamie Goode will host a tasting of Loire wines. On Tuesday, 23rd May (15.30 – 16.15), Castel will host a “French Riviera Rose” Masterclass. Provence rosé has been seeing impressive growth in recent years,
