There's so much to see and do: otters from around the world and stunning tropical butterflies in natural surroundings; a one hour's round trip behind a gleaming steam engine; and a chance to stroke the

owls, feed the red squirrels and meet the friendly hedgehogs!
And there is even more to see and keep you and the family entertained. At Buckfastleigh, there is a riverside walk, picnic area, gift and model shop, refreshment room as well as a fascinating museum. The workshops, where the South Devon Railway rebuilds and repairs locomotives and steam engine boilers of all sizes is well worth a visit. Here, you can learn what goes on behind the scenes to keep historic rolling stock running. Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies is right next door to the station at Buckfastleigh.
At Totnes, the Rare Breeds Farm, with its relaxing coffee shop, is next to the steam railway station and both are short walk
along a footpath from the main line and historic town centre.
