Sundolitt (XPS) extruded polystyrene was specified for new student accommodation at the University of Hull. Approximately 4000m2

XPS 300 grade was installed

and supplied through building materials distributor, MKM in Hull. Sundolitt’s XPS boards provided not only high thermal

performance that contributed to a U value for the floor of 0.11W/m2

to withstand extreme loads, the boards were installed in layers to a thickness of 270mm, to raise the height of the ground floor.

Staying in shape with Kingspan

GP practice staff in Aberdeen city are enjoying a new and improved environment at their purpose-built facility, with the help of the Kingspan OPTIM-R Balcony & Terrace System. The centre features a spacious roof

terrace. To insulate this, while also maintaining an even transition from the internal area, 30mm thickness of the Kingspan OPTIM-R Balcony & Terrace System was specified. Unlike conventional insula- tion, Kingspan OPTIM-R panels feature a microporous core which is evacuated, encased and sealed in a gas-tight envelope.
