“Women placing their children for adoption are not giving up their child. They are choosing to place their child in a stable and loving family.”

facilitates the delivery of monthly pictures and leters from adoptive families to birth parents for the first year, and then yearly thereaſter. Communication in addition to that is discussed individually based on each situation.

Kristen calls the adoption process “a beautiful mess,” and emotions run the gamut ev-

ery time. There is great loss in placing for adoption and experiencing infertility, but there is great joy and beauty in knowing that the child will have an opportunity to thrive in a stable and loving family. She emphasizes the face-to-face nature of their services. Unlike other national adoption

entities in which communication is conducted primarily by phone, Amazing Grace offers personal support during what is likely one of the hardest decisions a woman will ever face. “We want every woman to know that she has options when faced with an unintended pregnancy. If you are unable to parent in your current situation, there is a life-giving alter- native. Adoption should always be an option. Women do not have to choose just between parenting or abortion. You will find support here.” The expectant mother makes the decision on what type of adoption she wants

(open, semi-open or closed). The organi- zation presents her with fully veted Chris- tian families that are waiting to adopt. She is able to see photographs and read information on the family’s interests and hobbies, church and family life, giving them a snapshot of what they can expect for their baby. Kristen says one of the best parts of

her job is seeing the connection between adoptive and birth families as they join to- gether to give the giſt of family to a child. “I love walking alongside birth parents

that are choosing permanency and a stable home for their children. It’s such a selfless decision when they are looking beyond themselves at the best interests of their child. It’s gut-wrenching, and it’s beautiful.”
