About the Cover The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission’s 36-year Elk Project now has the big game animal flourish- ing in Newton and Searcy counties along the Buf- falo River. What started with 121 Elk in the early 1980s, now has a herd numbering more than 600 bulls and cows.
