here are several ways that Brooklands Trust Members can get involved with the 2017

Double Twelve Motorsport Festival, so please make a note of the dates in your diaries now!

There will be a special celebration on Saturday 17th June to mark the re-opening of the restored Finishing Straight, on the 110th anniversary to the day of the opening of the Brooklands Race Track. A host of Brooklands cars are expected to attend and take part in a special parade to mark this auspicious occasion and any Brooklands Trust Members with vehicles with Brooklands history are urged to get in touch with me, Steve Castle, in the Events Department (stevecastle@brooklandsmuseum.com or 01932 857381 extension 254) to find out more about participating.

The Festival weekend, organised in association with the Vintage Sports-Car Club, will as usual

incorporate the three main competitive elements of Speed Trials, Driving Tests and a Concours d’Elégance. This will be the first time that the restored section of the Track will have been used for competition since Brooklands closed as a racing venue in September 1939 and presents an extraordinary opportunity for participants to be part of motoring history. We hope that as many Brooklands Trust Members as possible will enter one of the many Double Twelve Classes that cover a huge variety of ages, sizes and types, with extra incentives for entering the Concours and Driving Tests. Details of classes and entry forms are now available on the Museum website and we will be putting the names of any Brooklands Trust Members entering the Concours and/or the Driving Tests before 30th April into a draw for one year’s free single, joint or family membership. The entry fees include access on the Saturday and
