Lockyer's School

f you have passed Lockyer’s Middle School of late, you will have noticed that our renewal of the school fence is now complete. As well as improving the security of the site, the new fence adds a fresh dimension to the school and we are pleased with all the positive feedback received from pupils, parents and members of the local community.

Last year, community minded pupils from our School Council raised issues regarding safety walking to school with the governors and also wrote to Michael Tomlinson MP. We are pleased that work has now begun to improve that junction and make it safe and agreement reached to review the pavement layout towards school.

Chair of Governors, Ernie Battey said: “We are thrilled that Ollie, Chloe, Sophie and Russell have taken the initiative on something that will not only benefi t Lockyer’s pupils, but the community as a whole. These children exemplify the spirit we seek to instil at Lockyer’s and really live up to our school motto, ‘Excellence Through Endeavour.’”

Computer Problems?

Finally, this year marks a record high in the number of parents choosing Lockyer’s Middle School as their fi rst choice for middle school provision and we really look forward to welcoming those pupils to the school in September.
