Coal Miners’ Cabins
Stay at the world’s northernmost full-service hotel in the heart of Longyearbyen. This modern, centrally located and comfortable hotel has 95 rooms and free Wi-Fi. All rooms are well equipped with en suite, TV, coff ee machine and a mini bar.
You can dine at Restaurant Nansen and sample their excellent à la carte Arctic menu and a good selection of wines, while enjoying panoramic views towards the majestic mountain Hiorthf ellet. Or enjoy a more laid back meal of steak, burgers and pizza at the Barentz Pub & Spiseri, which is the town’s most popular meeting place. The pub, where both local residents and tourists hang out, often features live music at the weekends.

The recently refurbished Coal Miners’ Cabins is a popular guesthouse in Longyearbyen. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, it off ers reasonably priced accommodation, located in the upper part of the Longyear valley and within reach of mountains and glaciers. It’s the place to stay for those who want to get the real experience of the mining period on Svalbard and is within walking distance from downtown.
Breakfast is served in the Bar & Grill restaurant, where chefs also prepare home- cooked meals for lunch and dinner. They have a gift shop, TV and free Wi-Fi. Every guest house has a kitchen, lounge area, laundry room and shared bathrooms.
