This 7-day voyage is ideal for culture seekers wanting to explore the coastal cities of Ålesund, Trondheim and Tromsø, with a stop at the North Cape.

Bergen–Kirkenes


DAY 1: Your journey begins Bergen, embarkation You will begin your journey in the southern port of Bergen, the City of Seven Mountains. Founded in 1070 AD, Bergen was Norway’s most important centre of trade with Europe for many years and home to composer Edvard Grieg.


DAY 2: Majestic mountains and idyllic f ords Florø to Molde Rise early to see Mt. Hornelen, the mountain climbed by Viking king Olav Tryggvason according to local legend. You will then navigate through West Cape and some of Norway’s most beautiful and pristine f ords before reaching the town of Ålesund. Ålesund was rebuilt in the Art Nouveau style, and the buildings and architecture here are well-preserved examples of this period.

DAY 3: Vikings and Goths Kristiansund to Rørvik Along this western part of the Norwegian coast, you will travel in the footsteps of true Vikings. The highlight of day 3 is the old Viking city of Trondheim, built by King Olav Tryggvason in 997 AD. The city is most famous for Nidaros Cathedral, Norway’s only Gothic cathedral. Stroll around the charming Bakklandet district, where artisans and small traders live in small wooden houses.

DAY 4: Crossing into the Arctic Brønnøysund to Svolvær When you cross the Arctic Circle at latitude 66°33′N, it’s considered a special rite of passage, one worthy of celebration. Above this point, you are sailing in the auroral zone where sightings of the Northern Lights are more common. From here, you sail past Norway’s second largest glacier Svartisen, along the beautiful Helgeland coast and up towards the idyllic

islets and jagged mountains of Lofoten. You will also sail through the dramatic narrow pass of Raftsund where you will behold the full majesty of nature.

DAY 5: The Arctic wilderness Stokmarknes to Skjervøy On this stretch, you are truly sailing in the Arctic wilderness. There’s plenty to see as you navigate the narrow channels towards the stunning city of Tromsø, capital of the Arctic. This small friendly city is full of charm and history, where many explorers began their Arctic expeditions. It’s the perfect winter wonderland to sign up for an excursion that takes you into the snowy landscape.

DAY 6: Reach the North Cape at the top of Europe Øksf ord to Berlevåg Today, you will visit the North Cape, Europe’s northern- most outpost, marked by the Globe Monument, now a popular selfi e spot. You’ll continue on through the homeland of the indigenous Sámi people up to Kjøllef ord and pass the Finnkjerka, the most dramatic sea cliff in Norway and considered sacred by the Sámi.

DAY 7: The gateway to the East Båtsf ord to Kirkenes You’ve voyaged to the northernmost point in Europe but at your journey’s end in Kirkenes, you’ll also have travelled further east than St Petersburg and Istanbul.
