Do you have some spare time on your hands and can commit to the time on a regular basis? Well volunteering maybe be something that will interest you. If you don’t know where to start looking then a good starting point is the Government website
www.gov.uk/volunteering On the website you’ll fi nd advice and links to diff erent organisation such as, Volunteering England, Volunteering Matters and Do-it, these websites are great as they can link you to your local area and current volunteering opportunities. Volunteering can take many shapes and forms including, driving people to appointments, befriending, assisted gardening, and if you fancy something a bit diff erent maybe a school or college governor or volunteer to check
the standards of prisons, there’s quite a range to suit most people from all walks of life. If you have a specifi c skill such as accounting, marketing, law, management and other professions that you would like to share with others then the Reach Skilled Volunteering website is a good one, as their aim is to connect professionals with charities.
