Uncovering Worcester Arts Workshop


Set up in 1989, Worcester Arts Workshop has always welcomed artists of all disciplines, ages and abilities, but in recent times the Workshop has off ered an increasingly eclectic range of activities and is now being discovered and utilised by more people. Manager Sarah Cotterill describes the Workshop as, ‘A cornerstone of community life, giving a space to all to be fully creative and experience art that expands their horizons’.


T e current programme of live events showcases theatre, music and dance from local, regional and national performers. Fans of independent fi lms can feast on a rich schedule courtesy of Splendid Cinema. Adult courses and workshops include ceramics, painting and drawing and singing. Children and young people can attend art and pottery workshops on a Saturday morning and a youth theatre is just being launched. T ere are several exhibition spaces available which display work from local charities to professional artists and performance space is available to hire for shows and to run courses. T e Workshop is also home to Café Bliss who provide a varied menu and host events and Vamos full mask theatre company. Stuart Bryan
