Oceania to base Insignia in New York in 2017-18
Oceania Cruises is to run its first sailings from New York City next year. The operator claims it will be the only “upscale cruise line” to have a ship that has New York as its homeport. More than 20 cruises are planned in 2017 and 2018. Insignia will operate from Manhattan Cruise Terminal to New England, Canada, Bermuda, Greenland and Iceland.

Voyages to Antiquity hosts marine biologist on board
An 11-day Voyages to Antiquity cruise with an onboard marine biologist will explore subtropical destinations in the Atlantic next May. Professor Sandy Primrose will join passengers on a May 3 sailing on Aegean Odyssey from Funchal – taking in the Madeira flower festival – via La Palma and Lanzarote to Morocco and Seville. Prices start from £1,995.

Celebrity Cruises to base a ship in Dublin in 2018
Irish travel agents will have a dedicated ship to sell when Celebrity Cruises becomes the first major cruise line to base a ship in Dublin. One of the 2,800-plus passenger Solstice- class vessels will run five sailings from the Irish capital’s port between April and June 2018.

Thomson adds Guatemala and more stops in Cuba

Guatemala is being introduced together with more Cuba calls in Thomson Cruises’ expanded Caribbean programme for winter 2017-18.
Three ships will be based in
the region, including Thomson Celebration which will move to a
new homeport of La Romana in the Dominican Republic. All-inclusive ships Tui Discovery and new addition Tui Discovery 2 will join Thomson Celebration and will sail out of Bridgetown, Barbados, and Montego Bay,
Jamaica, respectively. Thomson Celebration’s move to the Dominican Republic extends opportunities to combine cruises with beach stays, with the new Sensatori Resort Punta Cana among properties added to the portfolio. The port of Santo Tomas de
Castilla in Guatemala is introduced on a new Tui Discovery 2 itinerary, as well as Nassau in the Bahamas as part of a repositioning sailing.

available on selected cruises on Thomson Celebration, Thomson Dream, Thomson Majesty and Thomson Spirit between November
2017 and April 2018.
