P&O to offer Fathom-style social impact excursions

Social impact excursions pioneered by Carnival Corporation’s Fathom brand in the Dominican Republic are to be extended to six other of the group’s cruise lines including P&O Cruises.


The shore trips include helping


at a women’s chocolate-making co-operative and at a craft-making business that uses recycled paper. They will be offered to passengers calling at Carnival Corporation’s dedicated Amber Cove port on the north coast of the Caribbean island from this month. Besides P&O Cruises, the other


lines are Aida Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises. Carnival is also exploring opportunities to bring Fathom’s onboard and on shore “engaging, purposeful experiences” to a broader audience of travellers.
