Club Med: Skiers seek out other winter activities

Ski holidays are no longer seen as just ‘sports’ holidays and the type of holidaymaker choosing ski breaks is changing, according to Club Med.
Customers regard wellness
facilities, scenery, relaxation and other activities as increasingly important factors when booking a ski trip, according to the resort operator’s annual winter ski report. According to the resort operator,
nearly half (48%) of first-time skiers are over the age of 45 and a quarter are over 55. The figures are based on a consumer survey. The report shows 81% of Brits take resort activities into consideration when booking, while more than half (59%) of ski parties in the past two years included at least one non-skier. Popular activities for non-skiers include ice-skating (12%), tobogganing (10%), rock climbing (9%) and dog-sledding (7%).
