Contiki picks Ecuador for first volunteering itinerary

Youth travel specialist Contiki will operate its first volunteering excursion next year.
The five-day trip, which is
available as an extension to Galapagos Islands itineraries, will involve travellers volunteering on a sustainable development project. The add-on begins in Guayaquil,
Ecuador, which is where Contiki’s Galapagos itineraries finish. Volunteers will help to build
facilities for communities, as well as working with farmers. They will also experience a two-hour expedition cruise down the Amazon and an evening hike through the rainforest. The five-day trip leads in at
$1,295. It can be added to the seven-day Lava Line itinerary, which is also new; the six-day Galapagos Island Hopper tour; or the 12-day Ecuador & Galapagos Island Hopper trip. Contiki’s Latin America
