This comprehensive workshop will address key considerations for effective and safe evacuation of a school bus transporting students with disabilities, Head Start children and preschoolers. This workshop will also include a hands-on component to demonstrate the process of effective and safe evacuation.

Propane: Fuel System & Infrastructure Overview Presenter: National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium In-depth yet higher level overview of propane infrastructure options available to school districts, either individually or in partnership with public/private entities; an overview of how propane autogas fuel system works and differs from diesel; introducing concepts of technical propane training available from NATFC, and sharing information on additional resources for researching if the fuel path is right for them. The creator of a national program that brings student transporters into special education classrooms to teach bus safety rules and independence skills demonstrates how school districts can adopt similar offerings and train their staff to be agents of change for the students they serve.

Employee Drug & Alcohol Use Presenter: Tonica Lathrop
Hear about supervisory reasonable suspicion testing as well as: Recognition of signs and symptoms of employee alcohol and drug abuse; review of new drugs of abuse; how to document performance problems associated with alcohol and drug abuse; and how to conduct the corrective interview.
