Dr Irena Eris’ Pharmaceris W Dermocosmetics help to lighten hyperpigmentation and prevent new discolouration through a set of carefully selected ingredients. These work by inhibiting mechanisms involved in synthesis and uneven distribution of melanin, exfoliating and protecting against UVA and UVB.

Some of the products include Whitening Foam Eyes and Face Cleanser, Whitening Clear Face Toner, Anti-Dark Circles Corrective Eye Cream SPF15, Triple Action Skin Lightening Day Cream SPF50+, Intensive Skin Lightening Night Cream and Radiance Boost Whitening Serum.

Dermalogica PowerBrightTRx™, a potent trio of skin brighteners, incorporates the newest technologies to produce a more even, luminous skin tone. The products have been created to help offset hyperpigmentation and dark spots caused by UV damage, age and hormones. C-12 Pure Bright Serum should be applied to the skin prior to Pure Light SPF50, an advanced daytime treatment moisturiser to shield the skin from pigment-inducing UV light. At night, the range’s Pure Night is then applied which helps control melanin formation, restore skin luminosity and maximise the benefits of the PowerBrightTRx™ system.

Matis’ Radiance Cream helps to improve skin quality and restore radiance. Uneven skin tone and imperfections are reduced thanks to light reflecting pigments. Other active ingredients include ChromoSkin Complex to improve brightness and support collagen production and PoreSolution Complex to regulate sebum secretion and tighten dilated pores.

Matis also retail a Radiant Cleansing Water and Radiance Cream which can be retailed together to improve results.

Phyt’s Concentre Anti-Taches is an anti-ageing concentrate which helps target pigmentation by regulating melanogenesis. This is done through PWE – Phyt’s Whitening Extracts – which uses organic extracts of Bearberry and Liquorice to lighten the skin’s complexion and regulate oxidation of melanin, controlling the melanogenesis process. Other active ingredients include Wheatgerm, Acerola, Yarrow and Parsely. The brand recommend using this product alongside sun protection such as Phyt’s SPF50.

For a more technological approach to treating hyperpigmentation, why not try IPL through the Venus Versa system. Using this technology, a hand-held device delivers broad spectrum pulses of light into the deeper layers of the skin to simultaneously treat several skin conditions such as premature ageing, sun damage and pigmentation issues.
