“I was lucky enough to try the treatment at a recent trade exhibition, which took around two hours to complete. Firstly, my technician applied under eye gel pads over my bottom lashes to hold them in place whilst she applied the lash extensions to my upper lashes. We had previously discussed the effect I was hoping to achieve – lots of volume and drama but without a ‘fake lash’ look – and she began by applying ‘foundation’ lashes to my shorter natural lashes. She explained that these would help to maintain thickness whilst longer lashes were naturally shed over time.
“The individual lashes come in strips on a palette, and are incredibly soft to the touch. They are applied in small clusters or fans, bonded using the brand’s High Speed Platinum Bond Adhesive. This means for every individual natural lash, there were three NovaLash American Volume enhancements applied. My technician worked across both of my eyes at the same time, to ensure they were evenly balanced, checking that no lashes were bonded together.
“Once all lashes had been applied, the AirNova Machine was used, alternating mist and water, to set the bonding agent.
“The first thing I noticed after opening my eyes was how light these felt compared to other lash enhancements I had tried. I then lightly brushed my fingers over the lashes to feel how soft they were – even softer than my natural lashes.
“Over the next three weeks, I used the NovaLash Cleansing Pads to remove eye make-up (of course I didn’t need to wear any mascara), and combed the lashes regularly using the brand’s new retractable Lash Wand. After two weeks I had lost just one individual lash, and after four weeks the lashes still look voluminous.”
