HERON AERO SOLUTIONS, LLC LAUNCHES CERTIFICATION
SERVICES Scott Starick announces the launch of Heron Aero Solutions, LLC, a provider of engineering and certifi cation services for aircraft modifi cations and equipment manufacturers. Starick, an FAA designated
engineering representative (DER), formed Heron Aero Solutions (HAS) to provide turnkey engineering and certifi cation services to aircraft operators and modifi ers. HAS personnel are experienced with handling projects from conception to certifi cation (STC) and production (PMA). Many independent DERs
work with specialized parts of a modifi cation program, but Heron Aero Solutions provides a one- stop-shop for aircraft operators, maintainers and modifi cation shops. HAS has the capability to take a project from customer conception through design and certifi cation, ensuring that any certifi cation requirements are met from the beginning. According to Starick, “We intend to bring to the market a design and certifi cation capability to serve organizations that typically cannot accomplish the project on their own.” HAS brings experience that
crosses all categories of airplanes and helicopters. For product companies that are considering their fi rst TSO product, HAS can also provide

BOEING TO SUPPORT SWISS
MAINTENANCE OPTIMIZATION Boeing announces that Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has signed agreements for several Boeing solutions to increase effi ciency and streamline maintenance performance tasks across the airline’s global operations. The tools from Boeing – Airplane Health Management, Maintenance Performance Toolbox and Loadable Software Airplane Part Services (LSAP Services) – will leverage real- time information to optimize SWISS
airplane maintenance performance operations. SWISS will implement these Boeing fl eet and maintenance tools with its new fl eet of Boeing 777 airplanes. “Partnering with Boeing to implement these services will enhance our maintenance capabilities and drive increased effi ciency,” says Peter Wojahn, chief technical offi cer, SWISS. “Using real-time data will help us to make more informed fl eet management decisions and reduce aircraft down time.” Boeing Airplane Health Management services improve operational performance by using airplane data to advise maintenance staff and engineers on actionable solutions that can reduce delays, cancelations and diversions through better decision making.
