Uniworld plans to launch a ship to sail on the Seine.
The river cruise vessel will be named Joie de Vivre and will join the fleet in early 2017. It will be Uniworld’s 20th vessel and will join River Baroness, the only other Uniworld ship sailing on the Seine. The luxury line wouldn’t reveal
how much is being spent on the new ship, and said pricing for its itineraries was not yet available. The 128-passenger ship will
have two Royal Suites, eight Junior Suites and 54 cabins. Its Salon de Beaux-Arts lounge
will house a fine art collection and antiques from auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s, as well as private collections. The Le Club l’Esprit will have a
cinema and a pool with a hydraulic floor, which can turn into a dance floor or outdoor cinema. Dining venues will include Le Restaurant Pigalle and La Cave de Vins, for wine-pairing dinners.
