Liverpool floats plan for a bigger cruise terminal

A Liverpool cruise agency has welcomed the city council’s proposal to open a larger cruise terminal, claiming it would open up opportunities to target a wider audience.

Vision Cruise, formerly Liverpool Cruise Club, said a bigger terminal, able to handle ships from the more mainstream lines, would have a “substantial impact” on the business. Liverpool City Council is looking


at locations for a bigger cruise terminal, as it seeks to grow the number of cruise lines and passengers visiting the port. Belger said: “There is definitely demand among our customers for bigger cruise lines to sail from Liverpool. And it wouldn’t just benefit Merseyside: we have customers from Birmingham and Yorkshire who have been asking for this for years. “A new terminal would allow us to reach a new customer base,

Liverpool council is assessing the cost of building a terminal capable of handling 3,600 departing passengers – twice as many as the existing facility.
