BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS A change in blood pressure, whether high or low can be an indication of a serious health concern. Regular monitoring of your blood pressure can keep you actively involved in your health care. On the 3rd


Monday of each month, a


nurse from Brookdale, Lisle will be available to take your blood pressure between 11am-12pm. No appointment is necessary to take advantage of this free service.


MEDICARE HELP DESK Center Insurance and Financial Services will be at the Senior Center on the 2nd


Monday of each month from


9-10am to answer your questions and assist you in interpreting your statements. Call the Senior Center ahead of time to schedule a time slot.


SENIOR CENTER IPADS FOR USE The Senior Center now has two iPads that are available for personal use in our facility. Stop by the registration desk for more information or to check one out.


SENIOR HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM Also known as SHIP. The Illinois Department on Aging has trained volunteers to provide assistance in filing Medicare claims


and answer questions regarding Medicare


insurance coverage for seniors. For more information, call Jenny Dawley at Naperville Township at 630-357-8058.


SENIOR LUNCHEON PROGRAM Home delivered meals are available to area seniors who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. For additional information, call Home Delivered Meals at 630-620-0804.


FOOT DOCTOR Dr. John Mazzarella comes to the Senior Center on the second Monday of each month to care for Lisle residents’ foot needs. Please call 630-969-0992 to schedule an appointment.


LEGAL AID Eligible applicants may receive free legal aid from Prairie State Legal Services. Call Prairie State directly at 630-690-2130 to schedule an appointment at their Carol Stream office.


THE BENEFIT ACCESS PROGRAM (formerly known as Circuit Breaker) This assistance program offers low income seniors and persons with disabilities a reduction in license plate fees and qualifies them to apply for the RTA Ride Free permit. For assistance filing an application, please call Laura at Lisle Township at 630-968-2087.


RIDE DUPAGE Ride DuPage is a subsidized transportation


service


established to provide affordable transportation for Lisle Township residents age 65 and over and persons with disabilities. Ride DuPage service is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.


To be eligible for the program, you must: • Be at least 65 years of age or disabled • Live in Lisle Township


• Be registered in the Lisle Township Ride DuPage program


The cost of a one-way trip is a $2.00 flag pull plus call

TAXI SUBSIDY A Transportation Subsidy Program is available to Village of Lisle residents who are at least 65 years of age or disabled. Participants must live within the corporate limits of the Village of Lisle to qualify for the program. Program participants are allowed to purchase up to $50 worth of coupons each calendar month at a cost of $25. All taxi and limousine companies licensed to operate within the Village of Lisle must accept these coupons as if they were cash. PAPER RECYCLING When you’re done with this issue of The Prime Times, recycle it in the bin located in the Community Center parking lot! We’ll take your newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogs, office papers, school papers and junk mail. No trash, cardboard, glass or plastic, please.


RECYCLE OLD CLOTHES, SHOES & LINENS Recycle old clothes, shoes, hats, gloves, scarves, handbags, belts, bedding, sheets, drapes, towels and more through our partnership with USAGAIN. Drop off your bags at the bin located in the Community Center parking lot.
