Admission Arrangements: When and how can my child start school?


Nursery


There are currently 52 paces available in the Nursery for children between the ages of 3 and 4. Depending on vacancies, we offer a limited number of full time places for a ‘top up fee’. Children aged 3 on 1st September are eligible for a place in our Nursery Class. You can register your child at any time during the year before they are due to start. Parents are advised about how to prepare their children for Nursery by the staff, who will also make home visits as part of the Nursery Induction Program. Infant School - Reception, Year 1, Year 2


There are 60 full time places in Reception for children between the ages of 4 and 5. Children must be 4 on 1st September to be eligible for a place. It is important to remember that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception. Parents must register and apply on line for a place for their child via their Local Authority. Our Supplementary Form can be obtained from the school office (please visit the school website for our Admissions Criteria). When your child has been allocated a place you will be invited to an induction session in the Summer Term prior to your child starting. You will be given information to help your child settle into their new class. A home visit will be arranged for children that didn’t attend our Nursery.


Junior School - Years 3, 4, 5 and 6


There are 60 Year 3 places available in our Junior School. It is important to remember that a place in the Infant School does not guarantee a place in the Junior School. Parents must register and apply on line for a place for their child via their Local Authority and also obtain our Supplementary Form from the school office (please visit the school website for our Admissions Criteria).


Admissions to other year groups


Parents who are considering sending their child to the school should come and see the school administrator to check whether we have a place in your child’s year group. You will be given our Supplementary Form (please visit the school website for our Admissions Criteria). You must also apply to your Local Authority.
