The Anchor's 14th century thatched roofed pub retains many of its traditional features, including oak beams and wooden wall panelling. Relax in the comfortable bar and restaurant, or enjoy the extensive terrace overlooking the river when the weather is fine.
Situated a 10 minute stroll from the quaint village of Yalding near Maidstone, The Anchor is particularly popular with visitors exploring the beautiful Wealden countryside. It is also a regular stop-off point for kayakers and other river users.
We serve distinctive Kentish cask ales in peak condition, a wide range of international lagers and an excellent list of carefully sourced wines from family- owned vineyards, along with a variety of delicious light bites and traditional pub meals.

Restaurant in Headcorn. Housed in a traditional Tudor building, the low beams create a cosy ambience and a relaxing atmosphere. The takeaway meals are also very popular. The set meal for two includes any two main course dishes of your choice (King Prawn £3 extra) with poppadums, onion bhaajis, Bombay potatoes, two pilau rice and two naans for just £21.95. The West End Tavern in Marden is known for its well-kept ales and traditional pub food together with the warm atmosphere. A bar menu and daily special are available from Tuesday to Sunday between 12-2pm and Monday to Saturday 7pm-9pm. On Sundays, a family style roast lunch is served from 12-2pm and booking is advisable.
