The Verbal Commute Less is More? Of Course!

Paul Andrew Doyle ~ paul@upbeattimes.com

Santa Rosa, CA. ~ I under- stand this cliche, but it can be confusing at times. T e theme of ‘less is more’ came up in a recent conver- sation. ‘How is less more?’ I said. It’s a bit confusing. If I have less, I have less, not more.

Santa Rosa, CA. ~ Hello, my name is Melissa and I work as the activity coordinator in the assisted living unit at Spring Lake Village here in Santa Rosa, California. Every morning we start off our day reading from the Upbeat Times. WE LOVE IT! So thank you for this great magazine! This summer my 9 year old daughter is traveling with my parents from the east bay all the way to New York doing the Route 66 drive. Katelynn took the Upbeat Times with her to read in the car to my parents. They left June 30th, so she is reading the July edi-

tion on the IPad. Katelynn is also taking pictures as she goes with the Upbeat Times and she would really love it if she could be in the paper for the August edition. She would love to start the 4th grade and show it to all of her friends. August is also my birthday so it would be a fun gift for me to show to my residents here at Spring Lake Vil- lage. I have a few pictures and plenty more on the way for the next few months of Upbeat!

First Humor Some guy bought

a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: ‘Free to good home. You want it, you take it.’ For three days the fridge sat there without anyone looking twice. He eventually decided that people were too mistrustful of this deal.

So he changed the sign to read: ‘Fridge for sale $50.’

The next day someone stole it!

IS UPBEAT!
