MotorbikesA resident raised the problem of noise from motorbikes using a field next to Comp Lane. It appeared that people were travelling from outside the area and structures had been built on the site to support this use. The residentwas advised to contact Tonbridge and Malling Council’s environmental health and planning departments. The clerk would contact Cllr Balfour, who is also KCC cabinet member for transport and environment. Car park Tonbridge and Malling Council had decided that a height barrier into the Teston Road car park was not needed. However, residents had complained that tall vanswere parking overnight now they have access. Itwas agreed that the barrier needed to be replaced and the borough council would be asked to reconsider. It was suggested that the parish council could consider buying this small piece of land from the borough and take over the maintenance. Village hall The parish council would like to pay for the new LED lights in the village hall. This would be discussed with the commiee. Dog mess There had been an increase in dog mess on the village green near the pond. The clerk would ask for posters from the borough council. Calendar 2017 Fifty calendars had been sold. Ducks Another set of ducklings had been born and another pair of duckswas seling on the pond. Cllr Paul Nelson’s wife, Lynn, would like a bench in his memory put near the pond with an inscription. Cllrs agreed this would be a fiing tribute and would order a bench identical to the memorial bench already in place.
ROOFING lead and a copper cylinder with pipework were taken from the garden of a residential property in Robin Hood Lane, Aylesford. Damage was caused to a vehicle in Nurs-
ery Road, Ditton. Awallwas damaged at a residential prop-
erty in Holborough Road, Snodland. In West Malling, a shop was broken into
but nothing appears to have been taken. A bicycle was stolen in Meridian Place,
West Malling, with items removed without consent. Afence to a field in Common Toad, Ayles-
ford,was damaged. Overnight damage was discovered to a property in Poynder Drive, Snodland. The door to a property in Friars View,
Aylesford, was forced but no access was gained to it. A jet-washing machine was stolen outside
a property in Whitepost Wood Lane, Ayles- ford. A parked vehicle in Linnitt Road, Snod-
land,was broken into. A small number of items were stolen, in- cluding the log book. An office within commercial premises at

Grant KCC Cllr Sarah Hohler said she would consider suggestions of anything in the community that might benefit from a small grant. Queen’s birthday The deputy Lord Lieutenant visited Ryarsh for the Queen’s birthday party. Thiswas a super event. Planning The proposed demolition of a property and erection of three dwellings at Brionne, The Street, had been refused by Tonbridge and Malling Council after being called in to the planning commiee. Derillator About 35 people had aended the training course. Fire hydrant checks These would be completed when theweather improves. Power UK Power Networks would be cuing off electricity in the village for a day in the summer holidays. Footpaths The dog bin on footpath MR149 was not being emptied. The street light opposite The Old Vicarage on Roughes Road had vegetation around the light. The clerk would contact the landowner, Birling Estate, for it to be cut back. Website Thewebsite is currently free with funding from KCC but the fundingwas to be removed and the parish council would be charged £15 a month.
Wateringbury
Election Following 32 years of service, Cllr Michael Cayzer stepped down as chairman. He expressed his thanks to the commiee and especially to the clerk, Susan Cockburn, for her support over this time. Cllr Richard Trippwas elected chairman. KCC report KCC Cllr Mahew Balfour reported that the Environment Agency would be holding a number of public events about the flood barrier. Therewas no news on the Lower Thames Crossing or Operation Stack proposals. Police report PCSO Callum Harkness reported on four incidents of anti-social behaviour and other incidents during the previous month. Follow-ups on previously reported crimes had resulted in one arrest
and a confirmation of theft. The council sought clarification on how incidentswere analysed and suggested that in future all items relevant to the community should be reported.A request for a further report in the summer on speed checks after rush hourwas also suggested. Pill box Itwas agreed that a councillor would approach the owner of the World War II defence pill box on the Tonbridge Road to discuss the possible preservation of this building. Pear orchardA requestwas made by the leaseholders of the pear orchard for funding to cover the costs ofweedkiller, grass cuing and trimming around newly planted trees. The chairman asked for a budget for the full year before consideration from the parish council. Notices A resident suggested that notices be placed in prominent positions throughout the village with projects, for example the handy Stores and Post Office, to raise awareness among residents about any forthcoming extraordinary parish council meetings.
West Peckham
Crime A burglary (non dwelling)was reported along Mahews Labne. Flytipping continued to be a problem throughout the parish. Roads The potholes had been filled along Forge Lane but he potholes and edge of the road surface continued to be an issue along Park Road. The loose bricks along Church Wall footpath had been reported. Footpaths Thankswere given to a resident of the parish for clearing one of the footpaths although concernswere expressed regarding the necessary insurances. The parish council greatly appreciates the help and assistance of all residents but does not encourage such work to be undertaken due to health and safety and insurance implications. Taxi vouchers Itwas hoped that usage of the taxi voucher scheme would increase over the coming months. WebsiteA newwebsite would be launched in the autumn.

field, had its bodywork damaged. A vehicle was taken without consent from Thackeray Road, Larkfield. Deliberate damagewas caused to a vehicle
in Perch Close, New Hythe. A residential property was broken into
overnight in Thackeray Road, Larkfield. A hanging basket containing plants was
stolen from a property in TowerView, Kings Hill. A parked vehicle was stolen from Jenner
Way, Aylesford. A vehicle was set alight in Beaufighter
Road, Mereworth. Jewellerywas stolen from aVauxhall Corsa parked in the road at Robson Drive, Ayles- ford, after itwas broken into. Aparked vehicle had its windscreen and win-
dowsdamagedinWillowside,Snodland. In Chatham Road, Aylesford, a heavy
goods vehicle parked in a lay-by was at- tacked in the early hours and a window smashed.
