Gills fan Jack Spear in three-year match ban
A GILLS supporter who invaded the pitch during the last game of the season has received a three- year football banning order. Jack Spear (23) will not be able to
attend any regulated matches either in theUKor abroad for the length of the order, and risks being re-arrested should he breach it. Spear of King- fisher Road, Larkfield, whoalso goes by the name Jack Morley, received the ban when he appeared before
Medway magistrates. He pleaded guilty to entering the playing area of a designated football match andwas given a £60 fine and ordered to pay £85 court costs. Spear was arrested during the
final League One match of the sea- son against Millwall, which took place at Priestfield. When Gilling- ham scored, he ran onto the pitch to celebrate and was ejected from the ground by club stewards before
being arrested. Investigating officer Detective Constable James Chich- ester said: “Jack Spear has shown re- morse for his actions and understands that what he did was wrong. “This case should act as a warn-
ing...that there is no excuse for en- tering the field of play, and that by failing to keep your emotions under control you risk being banned from attending games in the future.”
