It’s all fun and frolics at festival
THOUSANDS enjoyed the fun, colour and music of Maidstone Summer Festival at theweekend. Despite an unseasonal downpour
early in proceedings, the sun shone for most of the event on Saturday. Livemusic, baton twirlers, choirs
and other entertainment brought Jubilee Square, Brenchley Gardens, Fremlin Walk and Week Street alive.
The eventwas organised by Kent Community Events (KCE) and supported by One Maidstone with Downs Mail as the media partner. KCE spokesman Barbara Dun-
ford said: "It allwent reallywell al- though the rain didn't help while it lasted. We had to do some rear- ranging while it rained. “But it was a fantastically well supported event."
