Vision London - 7-8th June
Vision London returns with over 160 speakers in its second year
Launched in 2015, Vision is the event for architects, specifiers, clients and suppliers. Held at Olympia London on 7-8th June 2016, it is the place where these communities come together to discuss, debate and showcase the latest innovations and developments in architecture, design and the built environment. The event focuses on new and innovative building products and materials, providing ideas and solutions for new and inventive ways to achieve better building design solutions and comply with ever changing legislation.
Through a series of seminars and case studies delivered by over 160 leading international speakers, alongside a carefully curated exhibition of cutting edge products and solutions, Vision is the meeting place for professionals connected to the built environment and a unique opportunity for suppliers to showcase their products.
In Vision’s second year, over 200 organisations will be exhibiting their new and inventive solutions that facilitate the creation of better building design. The event also boasts an extensive CPD accredited seminar programme where over 160 influential industry figures speak on a range of topics covered under the themes, Future Materials & Systems, Technology, Innovation in Architecture & Design, Building for Health & Wellness, Smart Buildings, Building Modelling Information (BIM) and Offsite Construction.
TECHNOLOGY TALKS
The use of technology continues to evolve across the various disciplines connected to the built environment and infrastructure. Technology Talks will explore the development of BIM and its impact on the built environment through a series of high profile case studies. This seminar stream will also address how augmented reality and 3D printing is shaping how architects, engineers and their clients are working with the latest technologies to develop new systems and solutions for the built environment.
FUTURE MATERIALS & SYSTEMS
A host of innovative materials and systems are available to architects, engineers, designers and their clients. Future Materials and Systems will focus on the range of materials available, how healthy products are at the forefront of the latest innovative projects and provide a range of case studies where these materials and systems have been used. The stream will also provide an opportunity to understand the latest research and development in materials from academic and research institutions and how these can be incorporated into future projects.
INNOVATIONS IN ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
A series of case studies delivered by clients, architects, engineers and consultancies highlighting the latest innovative architecture and design projects across domestic and commercial buildings through to retail, education and health as well as the link to the public realm. This stream will focus on issues such as space saving buildings, offsite construction, as well as focus on health and wellbeing and how sustainability runs through the heart of buildings and spaces.
VISION LONDON
BUILDING HEALTH & WELLNESS
There is a general understanding that better building design and the connection to public spaces across cities and towns provides health and wellbeing benefits. Building health and wellness stream will look at case studies where government, health and industry research has shown changes in behaviour and increased activity across the population.
SMART BUILDINGS
A smart building uses digital technologies or information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance quality and performance, to reduce costs and resource consumption. These sessions will look at the role that technology plays in perfecting our buildings and the benefits of this for those operating with them.
BUILDING MODELLING INFORMATION (BIM)
The construction industry has undergone its own digital revolution. This seminar will look at where we are with BIM today, how it has created value through combined efforts and where does BIM go next, whilst at the same time reviewing the downside of BIM in terms of the security risk this could hold for our future buildings.
OFFSITE CONSTRUCTION
This seminar will look at the historical and current application of offsite construction and production techniques and will give an overview of the various innovative types of offsite construction and review specific case studies. As well as assessing the benefits of using the various offsite methods and how using off-site construction can enable predictability for on-time and on-budget delivery, with the added benefit of being environmentally friendly.
