Halodome exhibits for the first time in the UK


Halodome offers a unique space suitable for a multitude of uses, be that luxury living accommodation, a showroom, a gym, a nursery, a cafe, or whatever else you may require.


Halodome is a pre-fabricated timber building which is designed to ship anywhere in the world and be assembled within a few days.


The design uses a high level of airtightness and insulation to achieve ultra-low energy consumption. Doors and windows are preinstalled into the finished panels and can be positioned in various configurations to suit the location and orientation of the building.


The interior has been meticulously thought out. The shell is completely self- supporting, free from columns or pillars. Only the striking central staircase anchors the space, winding around to the mezzanine level.


The Halodome show home in Southern China forms the heart of a very speciall village which has been created around it and was the first domestic building to achieve Passivhause accreditation in China. Halodomes have since been built in Europe with examples in Denmark and a forthcoming project in Ireland (where the Halodome will be the centrepiece of a 5 star spa complex).

Thermal imaging is proving to be an invaluable technology for detecting the source and cause of energy loss in buildings. At Ecobuild this year the FLIR MR176 Imaging Moisture Meter will make its UK debut. As well as this new product, models from all of the FLIR ranges will be on the stand for visitors to try.


Finding the source of a water leak or moisture ingress isn’t always simple or obvious. The damage may be evident on a ceiling but the source of the problem could be in a different room or on another floor of the building. This is where the bigger picture is needed and precisely the reason why FLIR Systems has introduced its new MR176 Imaging Moisture Meter Plus with IGM (Infrared Guided Measurement) technology.

shows the user exactly where to measure, providing all the measurement capabilities needed to troubleshoot fast, ensuring the true nature of the problem is established before remedial action is taken. It allows the user to see invisible cold temperature patterns associated with moisture evaporation and guides them to the precise spot that needs further testing and investigation.


The FLIR MR176 is also a valuable asset during the drying process. A quick thermal scan with the instrument will show where the evaporation process isn’t up to speed. Quick adjustments to blower and dehumidification equipment can then be made to get the drying process back on track.


A high degree of application flexibility is provided by the FLIR MR176 including pin and pinless moisture measurements, four thermal imaging colour palette options, customisable moisture and environmental readings on the thermal image and a built-in thermo-hygrometer with a field- replaceable temperature/relative humidity sensor. An on-board laser pointer and display crosshairs make it easy to hone in on a potential problem.


Downloading and sharing images is easy so they can be reviewed, analysed and used to create impressive reports with the free FLIR Tools software package and to document repairs.


This is a product that is easily portable, highly durable and designed to allow professionals to get more work done in less time. When moving from room to room gathering environment measurements, the FLIR MR176 will also show when the relative humidity readings have been stabilised thanks to its progressive environmental stability indicator.


A comprehensive series of compatible probe accessories are available to facilitate measurements in difficult spots - rough or uneven surfaces, in cavity wall insulation, and in subfloor materials or hardwood.
