Allow the Tourlock to relieve you of your security worries

In the physical security sector, the term ‘tailgating’ refers to the action of one unauthorised individual tagging along with an authorised user of a building to gain entry into a restricted area or highly confidential area without the correct permission to do so.

This ‘illegal’ style behaviour is often deemed unacceptable in the eyes of a business and poses a potential problem for many companies in the UK. It is especially taken more seriously within buildings where confidential data, assets and staff need to be protected from unauthorised personnel.

Tailgating by an intruder is a potential breach and usually occurs in places where there is a weaker control on security - these often include unmanned entrance areas where often access by unauthorised users is common.

Buildings with tighter security controls typically use more secure revolving doors to eliminate the opportunities for such illegal activity.

At Boon Edam, we understand the importance of keeping a building’s users safe and its assets secure at all times which is why we have designed the Tourlock 180+90 and its sister door, the Tourlock 120. During periods of high footfall, these security doors provide a high level of security as they monitor who is accessing a given area.

The Tourlock 120 and the Tourlock 180+90 high security revolving doors by Boon Edam offers the perfect solution for restricting access to authorised building users only. Access control systems on these doors can determine the identity of each user and can only be started after an

authorisation signal from an access control system (a card reader) has been given. Depending on what your requirements are, these highly secure doors can be integrated with a variety of different security settings that can accurately detect any form of tailgating or ‘piggy-backing’.

Typically, the Tourlock 120 which is only slightly less sophisticated than the Tourlock 180+90, is formed of three compartments as it utilises only three door wings and does not allow for simultaneous bi-directional traffic to pass through it at any time. With the Tourlock 120, the door wings rotate automatically upon receipt of an authorised signal, triggered only after the display of an authorised door pass making this door only accessible to authorised users.

Depending on what your security requirements are, our high security Tourlocks can be designed with a variety of additional security systems that accurately detect when an authorised user is trying to gain access.

For the highest level of security required, Boon Edam offer the Tourlock 180+90 highly secure, simultaneous bi-directional door which allows users to enter and leave using the entrance at the same time. In addition, the Tourlock 180+90 benefits greatly from a range of additional security systems including StereoVision - a complex system which allows a security door to visualise its user in a three-dimensional format, a weight system, contact mats and a sensor system.
