SONOMA COUNTY, CA. ~ Sonoma Bach celebrates its 25th Anniversary Season with eight spectacular concerts; in- cluding a show entitled, Early Music Christmas: In Sweet- est Joy, this December 11th & 12th at the stunning Schroeder Hall at the Green Music Cen- ter on the campus of Sonoma State University. The enthusi- astic stage-presence of Music Director, Robert Worth, dur- ing the fabulous pre-show lec- ture, a.k.a. “Bachgrounder,” sets the mood for the dramatic performance. It is a marvelous educational opportunity for the audience to get a better under- standing of the theme of the musical selections. Worth elo- quently explains nuances such as defi ning, “a Macaronic song, which means a song in two lan- guages, and is by design.” Worth thoughtfully puts to- gether each season by choos- ing themes for every concert and essentially takes the audi- ence on a musical journey with the exquisite song selections. “Bach is a kind of standard bearer for early music and the Bach movement is symbolic of the early music movement,” Worth explains; however, So- noma Bach performs the music of other composers as well. At- tending a concert performance by the talented Sonoma Bach ensemble tends to be a tran- scendent and cathartic experi- ence. Veteran arts administrator,

Michael Fontaine is the Execu- tive Director, who also sings as a fantastic tenor with Sonoma Bach’s Circa 1600 Chamber

A young woman wasn’t feeling well, and asked one of her co-workers to recommend a physician. “I know a great one in the city, but he is very expensive. Five hundred dollars for the fi rst visit, and one hundred dollars for each one after that.” she said. The woman went to the doctor’s offi ce and, trying to save a little money, cheerily announced, “I’m back!” Not fooled for a second, the doctor quickly examined her and said, “Very good, just continue the treatment I prescribed on your last visit.”
