Santa Rosa, CA. ~ The Red- wood Empire Food Bank (REFB) region’s leader in hunger relief launched its An- nual Winter Food and Funds Drive to help the one in six So- noma County residents strug- gling with hunger. It began November 1st
and runs through January 31st, 2016. Thousands
of Sonoma County businesses and individuals will help end hunger in our community by donating food and funds to the REFB. “Community involve- ment allows us to provide food assistance to 82,000 children, adults and seniors in Sonoma County,” said REFB Commu- nity & Events Coordinator,

• Make a fi nancial donation. For every one dollar that is do- nated, the REFB can provide two meals to a neighbor in need. The REFB accepts dona- tions online, by phone, mail or
in person at the REFB located at 3990 Brickway Blvd., Santa Rosa, CA 95403. • Host a Food & Funds Drive. Go to

Food donations ensure our shelves are stocked for people seeking emergency food assis- tance and monetary donations allow us to purchase nutritious food for families in need. • Volunteer at the REFB. At the end of a year he owns three old trucks. His two sons have left their neighborhood gangs to help him with the tomato business, his wife is buying the tomatoes, and his daughter is taking night courses at the community college so she can keep books for him. By the end of the second year he has a dozen very nice used trucks and employs fi fteen previously unemployed people, all selling tomatoes. He continues to work hard. Time passes and at the end of the fi fth year & he owns a fl eet of nice trucks and a ware- house which his wife supervises, plus two tomato farms that the boys manage. The tomato com- pany’s payroll has put hundreds of homeless and jobless people to work. His daughter reports that the business grossed a million dollars.
Planning for the future, he decides to buy some life insurance. Consulting with an insurance adviser, he picks an insurance plan to fi t his new circumstances. Then the adviser asks him for his e-mail address in order to send the fi nal documents electronically.
