Santa Rosa, CA. ~ This holi- day season, SRJC’s music programs, including the SRJC Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Symphony band, will deliver harmonious sounds and cre- ative musical compositions for the whole family to enjoy. On Tuesday, December 8, the SRJC Orchestra joins the Santa Rosa High School Or- chestra to perform “Symphony No. 2” by Sibelius and “Dan- zon No. 2” by Arturo Marquez. The orchestra will take place in SRJC’s Burbank Auditorium. Friday, December 11 is Jazz Night, featuring performances by the SRJC Jazz Band (direct-
ed by Dr. Jerome Fleg), SRJC Jazz Combo (directed by Ben- nett Friedman), the Oak Tones (an a cappella group), and the Wednesday Night Band. Jazz Night performances will be held in SRJC’s Newman Audi- torium. On Saturday, Decem- ber 12, a collaborative concert between the SRJC Symphonic Band and Sonoma State Uni- versity (SSU) Symphonic Wind Ensemble will take place in SSU’s Weil Hall. Families, friends, and enthu- siasts of orchestral music will enjoy an evening of inspiring melodies from dedicated per- formers. Music selections by the SRJC Orchestra will in- clude well-known symphonic pieces, as well as newer and lesser-known work.
The SRJC Jazz Night is an opportunity for the SRJC Jazz Band to share their work with friends, family and the commu- nity.
