North Bay Association of Realtors Steps up to the Plate For Valley Fire Victims!

Santa Rosa, CA. ~ Hi Paul! As an avid reader and advertiser in the Upbeat Times, I thought you might want to hear some good news regarding the Valley Fire, from the real estate & mortgage industries.

I had the privilege of par- ticipating in a spontaneous 5 minute fundraising activity at the regular Tuesday Market- ing Meeting for the Santa Rosa Chapter of North Bay Associa- tion of Realtors®. We decided to pass hats around and gather monetary donations to help the many in need, as a result of the Valley fire. The Broker from family

owned and operated Sun Pacific Mortgage & Real Estate kicked it off with a $500 donation and the hats continued to get filled with cash and checks for the Red Cross. Within

minutes

this amazing group gave over $6,000!

didn’t stop there:

American AgCredit and CoBank Contribute $50,000 to California Wildfire Relief

Santa Rosa, CA. ~ Agricultural lenders American AgCredit and CoBank are joining forces to as- sist the American Red Cross with its ongoing wildfire relief efforts throughout California. Each orga- nization has committed $25,000 to help the Red Cross provide shel- ter, food and relief supplies for the thousands of people displaced by the fires. As evacuees begin returning

to their homes, the donation will go toward Red Cross assistance, helping individuals and families to plan important next steps and to access the resources they will need to rebuild their lives. “The fires in California have caused consider- able damage throughout the state,” said American AgCredit Chief Marketing Officer Terry Lindley. “Homes and

entire livelihoods

have been lost to these massive fires. As a California-based lender, American AgCredit is proud to do its part to assist in the recovery.” “The people of California have faced a great deal of adversity this year,” said Leili Ghazi, president of

CoBank’s Western Region.

“Unprecedented drought condi- tions have hit everyone hard and so many have now been impacted by these devastating fires. We hope that our contributions to the Red Cross will help to alleviate a small part of their suffering.” In addition to its $25,000 do- nation, American AgCredit has also committed to matching up to

$5,000 in donations from its em- ployees, adding $10,000 to the to- tal donation. “Our staff members are part of these communities,” said Lindley. “Many have already made their own financial contri- butions to this important effort and we are delighted to be able to match those donations dollar-for- dollar.”

And I found out it Other So-

noma County Realtor Chapters continued similar donations and the North Bay Association of Realtors itself announced that it would match all Chapter dona- tions, up to $15,000! For these times in need and other charities making the dif- ference, I know that we can count on local companies and our local Realtor Associations to step up and help out!

It

makes me proud to be a part of such Teams.

Also, Here’s an additional

“good news tidbit” for you about the Valley Fire: “The North Bay Association of REALTORS, through matching funds and donations from their members and chapters, had raised nearly $40,000 as of September 17th and donations were still com- ing in! Funds were given to the American Red Cross California Northwest division, earmarked exclusively for the Valley Fire Victims.” ~ Best, An Upbeat Fan :-D

Mr. Music Does it Again!

Sebastopol CA. ~ The Valley Fire Benefit Music Concert on Sunday, September 27th at the Sebastopol Community Center was a huge success, with much of the credit going to the Love Choir(Jim Corbetts Group, AKA Mr. Music) members, who once again stood up and did lots of the grunt work at the show. Bill H. and Tom M. showed up early with Drum- mer Alan to help set up. Jimmy V., Jimmy C and Patrick M. helped build the outdoor stage, and Dorothy M. tool on the si- lent auction along with Linda M&M, Suzanne T. Debbie B. and more. Because of your ef- forts and your giving we raised over $32K for the Valley Fire Fund, which will be distributed through the Redwood Credit Union. The bands for this event all donated their time: Gator Nation, Frobeck, Sol Hori- zon, Stax City, The Harvest Band, Doc Kraft Band, Solid Air, Sarah Baker, Buzzy Mar- tin, Kevin Russell, Love Choir, Sherry Jones and more... It was a might FUN FUNDRAISER. Maybe our best party ever.
